Diversity + Inclusion

The Microbiology & Cell Science Department is committed to and engaged in actively supporting diversity, inclusion and equity for all students, staff and faculty in our department, the greater IFAS and UF communities, and in our discipline worldwide. It is our strong belief that our department, our science and our lives in general are benefited greatly by fully including a wide variety of diverse backgrounds, opinions, life experiences and skills. We strive to go beyond non-discrimination; we work to actively promote diversity of race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, gender preference, religion and socioeconomic background.

This is your department, and we need your help to make sure we are doing all we can to help make it a safe, welcoming and productive environment for everyone. Your anonymous feedback and suggestions are essential to our ongoing efforts.

What does diversity + inclusion mean to you?

We asked our students, and this is what they had to say:

"no cell left behind!"
